
The project gives admission to students who are most needy and are affected by many of the problems or needs identified during the baseline survey before the project planning. Social Welfare norms the hostel has been give admissions to girls from SC, ST, OBC, NT, VJNT and SBC. Every year the hostel gives admission to small number of students under the quota of Special Background Class which includes economically vulnerable families. While giving. While giving admission through backwards casts and Tribes, the hostel gives priority to the girls who are most vulnerable and at risk of not continuing education due to various family and social problems. The project team analysed admission information to find out the girls and their problems. Following is the conclusion. The conclusion of the analysis show that poverty, addiction, insecurity, parents’ illiteracy and domestic violence are experienced by majority of girls.

The hostel ensures to admission in the schools that are reputed for Security, and educational standard. Currently girls are given admission in two Municipal corporation schools; Nanasaheb Purulekar High school, and Sant Dnyaneshare Primary school. Both schools are reputed for performance of SSC result, Special Attention, Discipline, multiple education, Educational Resources, E-Learning, Sport activity in Municipal Education System.
The hostel has created menu with the consultation of a Dietician Dr.AsmitaGupte and PritamSingh. The hostel provides plenty full of three meals. The meals are provided according the demands of the students taste, nutrition wise health requirement. Breakfast included PavbhajiidaliDahiwadi, Milk, Sprout, various Parthas, Pohe, Khichadi, Uppit, Shira. Meals include Chapati, Rice lentils, green vegetable, Paneer, Simal Mirchai, Masale rice, Sprouts, Sweets, Fruits and Eggs. The girls and parents are happy with the food and its variety. Within two months the girls show improvement in their health, weight and height. Their faces glow and look healthy. The incidences of miner illness are reduced.


The hostel has a computer Lab of 8 computers. The girls are given a designated half an hour for every class daily. But they are also allowed to use computer if they required doing Project Work and exploring data from internet. All the girls of 8th to 10th use computer for at least two hours. They are allowed to use the computers any time as per their need. The hostel had appointed a computer trainer ( Savita Barathe) who spends 2 hours and conducts two batches of Eights standard. The schools also have computer labs and provide ICT education. But the girls provide do not get very little time for practice in school. The hostel computer lab helps them to practice immediately and develop more practical skill. Girls themselves are motivated to learn through internet and through games.
The hostel provides following educational resources Library, Education Materials; E-Learning CDS. The library has total of 1079. They include Children’s literature, novels, reference books, Biographies, Scientific Knowledge. Cooking, General Knowledge, History books, Environmental, Songs and poems, Essay writing, Grammar etc. The girls are provided with one book every week. 12 high school girls use reference books very frequently. 20 girls have read over 10 books. Puja Lohakare read 15 books. The girls use library more when they need to give speech and do essay writing. Because of the library books their general Knowledge improved, they started to give speeches (in 2015- 21 girls) Essay writing. All the girls took part in Essay writing (152 in two years) but 10 of them were appreciated award at school level.


Current the hostel has appointed two tutors to provide additional tuition classed for the difficult subjects of Math and English. Every class gets 45 minutes of tuition in both subjects every day. The tutors assist the girls to recover their basic knowledge and concepts and also to make sure that they understand the textbook subjects. The tuition classes and helped the girls to overcome their fear and dis interest in the hard subjects. They have also improved their marks in those subjects.
The girls are provided with prompt first aid care and medical are when needed. Students are also provided with hospitalised care when needed immediately. Special supplementary food and diets is also provided. All the girls have been ensured medical insurance. They also receive individual and collective guidance and counselling concerning emotional wellbeing.


The hostel provides full-fledged and well equipped residential facility. Dining hall with Tables and chairs, separate bunk beds, storage cupboards, play area, Aqua guard water, Good ventilation and light, TV. The girls like to stay in hostel; they enjoy availability of these facilities which are not available back home. Their way of living, etiquettes, manners, style has improved. They also feel that parents should also live the same way.
